This project is a remodeling of an apartment in Seongsu, initiated to bring together a family that previously lived separately. The large central column, measuring 1.5m x 1.4m, was finished with green marble, highlighting it as a focal point and weight balance rather than concealing it. The living, dining, and kitchen (LDK) areas were arranged close together to create an open space, with each area given a distinct tone to set different atmospheres.

Starting from the entrance, oak walls discreetly conceal doors and closets, naturally guiding movement from the entryway through the mudroom, living room, and into the bedrooms. Additionally, a small lounge area for the children was positioned near the entrance, allowing easy access to their rooms while keeping the LDK as the center of family life. This project is thoughtfully designed to allow family members to gather naturally in a central space, while each person can also find comfort in their individual areas.
